ZZ TOP FOR JOHN VARVATOS

John Varvatos continues his rock inspired campaigns by now shooting ZZ Top for the A/W 2010 season.
The bear rockers follow Perry Farrell, Chris Cornell, Franz Ferdinand, and Cheap Trick who have all donned the casual laid back cool of the Varvatos label.
Don't really know how much longer the label can milk the whole rock thing, I mean one of the tops looks like a noam in one of the pictures.

OUR FAVE (NON)GAY FISH RAPPER DESIGNS FOR THE GAP

New York magazine's blog the cut wrote yesterday on the rumours first broken by US Weekly of Ubermacho (questionable)rapper Kanye West is a design intern at the Gap.
The Louis Vuitton don has already made his own line of sneakers for LV. Seems like someone's love for fashion goes way beyond sitting front row at every show possible. Very metro(ughm GAY).

Brittish super stylist Simon Foxton, styles the exhibition that celebrates men in fashion photography.

Foxton whose career spans the last three decades, has been capturing the spirit and energy of menswear in some of the most memorable fashion moments.

Foxton (UK, b.1961) is a leading image-maker of men’s fashion, who has anticipated and defined key shifts in menswear design since the early 1980s. Capturing menswear’s spirit and energy in some of the most memorable fashion photographs of the period, he questions definitions of masculinity, national identity and taste. Historic portrait iconography and classic English men’s tailoring are combined with contemporary sportswear design, street fashion and references to gay subcultures to produce sophisticated and innovative fashion images for a range of brands and magazines.

Showcasing Foxton's work with photographers like Nick Knight, Jason Evans, Alasdair Mclellan and David Sims to name a few, this exhibition is set to challenge our imagery of masculinity.

OBAMA AWARDS HARVERY MILK

President Obama has announces in a press conferance on friday that he will be awarding America's highest civilian honour to the gay activist Harvey Milk. Milk will is the first openly gay civil rights leader to have received the award. Obama will honour the murdered San Francisco supervisor with 15 others, including lesbian tennis legend Billie Jean King and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The choices will be honoured at a White House ceremony on 12th August.
