SS 11 Campaigns

Gisele is set for a massive comeback in 2011 after giving birth to her first child this year, by starring in the SS 11 Balenciaga campaign shot by Steven Meisel.
It's been rumored that the Brazilian beauty would land the job as she made a surprise appearance at the
SS 11 Catwalk show in Paris this past October.

It's a totally new look that what we are used to see from Gisele, who must now manage to reinvent herself after her break.
Judging from the image at the left it could be that we are about to witness the 2nd rise of Gisele, the world's top grossing model for several years in a row pre-baby

Child Of The Night

One of my favorite editorials I styled this past year is this one entitled 'Child Of The Night' shot by my great friend and collaborator/ partner in crime Daniel Gil.
The story has just been published on Models.com in their Ones2Watch section.

Leigh Bowery

The ever wonderful Leigh Bowery in a posthumous cover of Acne Paper. A beautiful naked image of the man renowned for his extreme outfits, living his influential performance art to the fullest, at every opportunity. Leigh was a constant performance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It's nice to see mounsieur Bowery, vunerable side.

Watch Leigh's legendary Wigstock Performance below.

SS 11 Campaigns

Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci continues to creatively challenge our perceptions of beauty, last season by giving us Lea T, starring in the A/W campaign.
This year the cult label goes a step further and takes cues from it's all white, ultra decadent couture collection. The spring campaign, also  all in white  stars Daphne Gronevald,  and albino model Stephen Thomson.

Editorial Love

The zoo come to Lily Donaldson as she rocks spring trends for US Harper's Bazaar Jan issue,
shot by Terry Richardson .
Lily looks stunning on the cover holding a cutesy baby leopard cub, dressed in Dolce & Gabbana.
Leopard is having a fashion moment says The Telegraph
I say it's a great trend.

Pre Fall Season

It is a lovely surprise to find monsiuer Lagerfeld so inspired for pre-fall season yet again.
Following last pre-falls Shanghai full highly produced show, the Kaiser opted for a more "intimate" setting as he showcased his Byzantine empire inspired collection.

It's been a couple of season since I have been this exited over a Chanel collection.
I love the 60s feel (shapes and styling) together with the more luxe bejeweled pieces.

British Fashion Awards

Alexander
Mcqueen

Alexander Mcqueen is to be honored with an Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design by the British Fashion Council tomorrow at the British Fashion Awards.

Mcqueen was voted designer of the year award by the BFC for 4 years during his lifetime.
The celebration of a life's work, and the beloved Lee Mcqueen's influence on his peers will culminate with a film featuring Lee’s most iconic pieces directed by Nick Knight, styled by Edward Enninful and soundtrack by Bjork. The film will feature iconic pieces from Lee's career from the Alexander McQueen archive.

Once again we are reminded of Lee's greatness and how he was the most important designer of his generation

I haven't been this exited about a film in a very very long time. The Black Swan starring the ever fabulous Natalie Portman and the incredibly underrated Mila Kunis. Directed by Darren Aronofsky’s , (who has directed one of my all time favorite movies, 'Requiem for a dream')the film is bound to strike a major  fashion crowd following with the Rodarte sisters involvement as Costume Designers.
Rumor has it that Natalie Portman is generating some serious Oscar buzz for her role as the Queen Swan, I personally can't wait to see her custom made Rodarte frocks for award season.

Shoe Porn

Alexander Wang

Shoe porn this week is "inspired" by the awful weather we have been having lately all over Europe.
These Trantasticly warm goat fur boots by Alexander Wang seem to provide as much protection towards slippery surfaces and cold, as one can expect from a Fab shoe ( please say no to UGGS everyone!).
There is really no need to be cold in order to look FAB!.

Karl Lagerfeld

When Karl Lagerfeld decides to do something, the kaiser has an ability (custom) of taking out all the stops.
For the 2010 exclusive VIP Pirelli Calendar inspired by Greek mythology, Karl decided to throw in some male hotness in the form of Baptiste Giabiconi and Brad Koenig, who looks super fit, alongside Anja Rubik, Julianne Moore,  Iris Strubegger amongst others
Baptiste as always however takes centre stage and looks simply stunning.

And so finally images from the the most hyper controlled show in recent fashion history have surfaced through Harper's Bazaar UK.
As expected monsieur Ford has turned his eye towards the magical 70s his debut womenswear label.
It's an ultra chic and grown up decadent Tom Ford woman, that does not give out her goodies as readily as Ford's sexed up 90s Gucci Kitten.

The ultra secretive and star studded show saw Beyonce, Lauren Huttun, Stella Tenant, Daphne Guiness strutt their stuff on the catwalk.

Swedish supermodel and one of my personal favorite girls right now, Frida Gustavsson makes a star appeareance in British Vogue (about time)  shot by  Lachlan Bailey.
I stumbled upon this thanks to the fab Fashiongonerouge blog.
Frida channels various 70's glam looks in this beauty editorial and looks absolutely fab.

I've been trying to majorly supres this 70's trend that we saw in Topshop, Mulberry and Tom Ford, but Frida has definetely made me see it in a new light.
